Truth be told... a mote of dust.....Carl Sagan

I believe our future depends powerfully on how well we understand this cosmos in which we float like a mote of dust in the morning sky.

While Carl Sagan may be quoted most often on this particular idea, 100 years earlier Constance Naden was writing about the exact same ideas. In her poem, "Starlight II," she fortells humanity's love affair with the cosmos, saying, "A life to each minutest atom given, Whether it find in Man's own heart a place, Or past the suns, in unimagined space- That Earth may know herself a part of Heaven"  (The Complete Poetical Works of Constance Naden, 143).
