Gather Fabric

Here's how I gather short pieces of fabric, like this lace I added to the sleeve of my Fetes Galantes gown! First, using my B38 by Bernette I sew a straight stitch with backstitch 1/2" away from the top. Second, I sew a 5mm long straight stitch about a 1/4" from the top of the fabric without backstitching.
