Court suit, 1810-1820: Splendid cut-steel buttons are the only decoration on the coat. They were made of flat circles of polished steel decorated with faceted steel rivets, set to sparkle and reflect the light. These were a fashionable style of button in the late 18th century which continued to be worn with court dress well into the 1870s.

Beige wool broadcloth, fitted through chest, tan velvet collar & turn back cuffs, diagonal double row of brown thread buttons, side & F waist seam, double pleats to wide back skirt, CH 40", L 39", Note the odd bottom buttons and what seam to be extra pleats holding over from the Justaucorps days.
