Rondel dagger, Germany, circa 1480. Slender thrusting blade with very unusual asymmetrical cross-section and four-sided reinforced tip. The spine is fullered. Both rondels are engraved with decorative vines. The grip has vertically incised bars interspersed with pairs of diagonal lines. A stylized sun is engraved on the pommel disc, peened with an ornamental flower made of copper. Overall length: 35.5 cm (13.98"). Currently housed at the Minervino Collection. [872 x 960]
