They thought grains should be for food for soldiers and not for alcohol. Prohibition banned production, import and transportation of liquor. During the 1920's prohibition became outlawed in every province except for PEI

This is a prohibition poster encouraging people to vote for prohibition. In the prohibition was put in effect in Canada. this led to higher crime rates and smuggling of booze.
