Some scholars argue Biohacking practices like the DIY microscope democratize science in the production of data and knowledge. However, image making is an epistemic practice and interrelated with its (scientific) producer, so when breaking open the DIY microscope, what does the image communicate? My main question is: What happens to the production and appropriation of scientific images when microscopes move from the lab to open source hackerspaces?
AMAZING projection mapping in moving spaces. Box explores the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping onto moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera.
Architect’s Brother is a very beautiful series of photographs by artists Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison. The architect, here, seems to be God and his brother seems to have been in charge of setting up the World at its creation.
