Math Coach's Corner: Equivalent Fraction Dash. My 5th graders used to love this game because, well, you get to run in the classroom. Basically, you divide the class into two teams and hand out the cards equally to the two teams and yourself. You, (the teacher) display a fraction card in a pocket chart. Players from each team check their cards to see if they have a card with an equivalent fraction, and then one player from each team rushes to the front to place their card in the pocket chart.
FREE Equivalent Fraction Memory is a math game for upper elementary or middle school students. Comes with an easy and difficult set of cards to help differentiate instruction. The fraction cards are also great to use for other topics, including adding fractions, subtracting fractions, multiplying fractions, dividing fractions, ratios, and more! Try them out and let me know what you think!
