Do you dread science experiments? We never have the materials, supplies, or ideas, so experiments are often skipped! This year, I'm so thankful for BookShark Science. We love this literature based curriculum and the amazing science kit. See my review to download a sample, and try it for yourself.
A homeschool online reading library can save the day! A homeschool lesson sparks your child’s curiosity. Perhaps he wants to know all about butterflies, trains, or blood cells. A library search pulls up plenty of books on the topic, but you don’t have time to get to the library today. By tomorrow your child may have moved on to a new interest and this opportunity to learn more is lost. This is the moment a homeschool online reading library can save the day!
Raising Chickens! We started with 6 chicks and THEN built the chicken coop as a homeschool project. That was definitely backwards. Learn from our mistakes and build your coop first. Chicks grow rapidly and you DON'T want them inside your home (insert green sick emoji here).

Participating in National Scavenger Hunt Day is a great way to introduce your children to scavenger hunts. It also adds a bit of excitement to a regular day, especially if you need a break from your regular routine!

These are unexpected and challenging times to navigate. Rather than live in fear, choose a new strategy to help your family during this time.

Our first homeschool butterfly project was a success! From finding caterpillars in the backyard, feeding them milkweed, watching them form a chrysalis, and finally reaching their butterfly form. It was a great homeschool experience! You may want to try this Monarch project with your homeschoolers.
