Friedeltje visited the fantastic Joaquín Sorolla exhibition at the Kunsthalle in Munich. A native of Valencia, the artist had the unparalleled ability to capture the southern light in paint. He poses in front of 'Maria is painting in El Pardo, 1907'.
Panorama Mesdag is a panorama by Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the panorama is a cylindrical painting more than 14 metres high and about 40 metres in diameter. Friedeltje and Gustaafje are sitting on the observation gallery on a high sand dune, behind them the beaches and village of Scheveningen in the late 19th century.
Friedeltje visited the The Hague Public Transport Museum (HOVM) this afternoon based in an old tram depot. The oldest tram dates from 1878! Some of the old trams still ride through the city during summer weekends. Friedeltje was allowed to pose in a beautiful tram built in 1929. Thanks HOVM!
