Men of the 4th Infantry Division await helicopter transport at a hilltop base southwest of Kontum, March 17, 1969. The company was en route to an abandoned village from which they were to march through mountainous jungle terrain, to set up a hilltop firebase. Because of the small size of the chopper pad, and a limited number of helicopters, the unit was slowly being moved out. Viet Cong Child Soldiers. With all the talk about liberty and equality the Viet Cong seldom mentioned that when things got hard and manpower was difficult to come by they would draft young children as guerrillas. These boys were enticed with promises of adventure and hundreds of such children were killed in battle. They are members of the Dong Rai Regiment (K-3). In 1968, the South Vietnamese held more than 1000 Communist guerrilla prisoners between the ages of 11 and 17. Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Fukushima

These are some Vietnam draft cards. During the Vietnam war the government was in need of so many soldiers that they had a lottery and brought any man healthy enough into the war. Many people fled the U.S. if they received one. The draft would bring anyone unless the were in college or deemed unfit. I wonder how scary it would be to receive one?
