Sinterklaas is an old Dutch tradition we celebrate on the 5th of december. Sinterklaas comes to Holland with his helpers (zwarte pieten) and bring a bag of presents to small children. They actually believe he excists. And the grown ups do their best to play along. We bake special treats like pepernoten and marzipan. All with Dutch "gezelligheid" (cosy)
Netherlands- Sinterklaas is St. Nicholas in the Netherlands. Dutch children put wooden shoes filled with hay and sugar for Sinterklaas' horse. Good children receive shoes full of sweet treats as a child we would sing to Sinterklaas.
